The aim was to experience the role of an Art Director in a team with a senior designer and a junior designer. The main task was to determine the project direction, ensure each issue is resolved to a high standard, as well as ensuring good collaboration.
Part of the job as an Art Director was to conduct an interview with a professional from the creative industries working in the West Midlands area. My interview features the works of Rich Hughes, senior creative director.
This project was a great insight and opportunity to experience working as an Art Director and being in charge of the project direction and leading the team.
Working in teams is always a challenge, and the communication is always lacking. The language barrier has made it challenging, so I have designed and printed off a detailed style guide for my issue of the magazine to help explain my ideas, thoughts and design choices.
